History

The first owner was a Swiss citizen. The vehicle was imported in 1932 by the Maybach representative Schlotterbeck in Basel. In 1937 the vehicle was discovered in a junk yard by auto lover Glaus Näggeli of Zurich. The engine was frozen. On his orders, the engine was replaced with a 12-Cylinder Cadillac engine.
Between the years 1939 and 1945 the vehicle was not registered. The car was registered again in 1946 but ended up shortly in the junk yard due to high fuel consumption. A danish student discovered the vehicle in 1955 and drove the Maybach to Copenhagen in 1960. Due to high costs the car was offered for sale in the beginning of the 1970ies. It was sold to someone in the United States. Over the years the vehicle had several owners in the United States and could often be found on the auction block. This Maybach is now being exhibited in Las Vegas. The installation of an available 12-Cylinder Maybach engine  from a DS8-Zeppelin is planned.
