History

Originally a "Maybach 12" built in the years 1930/31. Was probably upgraded in 1935/36 to a Maybach DS8 "Zeppelin" with an overdrive of type DSG80. After the war the vehicle was confiscated by the french occupation army. The signet of the french army repair shops of the central shops of the airship factory Friedrichshafen is attached to the vehicle. It was later sold to a US officer who brought it to the United States. After his death it was sold by his widow to another collector in the United States.
In the 1980ies, the vehicle was brought back to Germany in it's original condition. The vehicle is currently being restored.
